Welcome to my website!
My site provides information about current research, past administrative work, and ongoing teaching initiatives, including class blogs.
I am a graduate of George Mason University’s Cultural Studies program, Carnegie Mellon’s Literary and Cultural Studies program, and Montclair State University’s programs in English Literature and Women’s and Gender Studies.
For the past two-years I have taught literature and writing courses at UT-Arlington. My courses explores a variety of topics: censorship, representations of children and childhood, the relationship between text/image in graphic novels, gender, race, sexuality, class, religion, ability, and nation.
My recent research focuses on LGBTQ+ children’s picture books, mommyblogs, evangelical purity culture, and digital pornography.
I’m excited to share my new blog: RaiseThemRighteous! I put my training to work reviewing socially engaged children’s picture books to help parents and educators identify justice oriented literature.
